I admire shows like "Project Runway."

I know it's a very "eye-catching" show, but aside from all the emotions shed into constructing and creating one-of-a-kind pieces. I love the perserverence I see on "Project Runway." I always enjoy watching Bravo shows like "Top Chef" and "The Real Desperate Houswives of New York" as well. To me they're reality shows with a little more soul, and with that, comes perspective. I believe it's nice to have someone on T.V with the same goals and focus, and see how they push themselves and evolve, it's relatable reality t.v... and in the end, isn't that what want outta t.v shows, some charactors we can identify with? Even when some of these contetants "fail" they always leave a smart mark. There is nothing conseted about their reactions to being eliminated or scrutinized, in fact I have seen more dependent secure people out in the public eye, and making an impression.

It's a great representation of having the drive, the guts, and really sticking your neck out there. "Project Runway" is more than a reality show for me because after reading a few bios... like this pretty lady from Pompano beach who has a great sense of style, and I enjoy her taste in clothes and her personality, very hate me or love me. But back to my point, after reading a few bios, these people are doing nothing more than chasing a carreer that they show extreme pleasure in persuing, and seeing how hard they've worked is really inspiring. If we all had such drive, we could all make a contribution in this world... and those who've choosen to go against the grain, and follow that beaten creative path... "tanto di cappello." Support the arts!!! Dedicate 1 hour of your time today and do somthing that stimulates your creative heart... even if it means doing it vicariously through a television show. ;-)

Skipping Stones...

It is spring in the Cinque Terre... The trees are opening up and welcoming the glow of the sun. The sky reflects the sea. To me, the earth mirrors the sky in spring. My emotions are much more clear and hollow, and ready to absorb the energy before summer.

In the summer-time, the air becomes denser and a bit more hostile, the sea breeze is a little more stagnent, the sea itself just a little more filled, filled with frothy foam and phoney people, unfortunatley distracting the peace it once had... in the spring.

I enjoyed stepping my feel it the light and sparkly pebbles, and perusing and pursueing the perfect stone to skip. Each stone is a hope to connect, to connect with nature, and in return with yourself. Close your eyes and imagine the sea in front of you, not a soul in sight, just a stone in your hand...

A song that does this passage justice. Written by Badly Drawn Boy:

"Stone On The Water"

So we restore harmony
Smooth the lines on the face of an old enemy
But there's no wood on the fire again
We could meet in a place1 you know where
I know when to go

Skimmed like a stone on the water
Fall with no trace to lie permanently
Ooh

Into the valley we roam, where we fumble around
Till we find our way home
Yet all we have is an old ball of string
Will it reach to the end of this dark labyrinth
No

Skimmed like a stone on the water
Fall with no trace to lie permanently
